According to a research, about 1.5 lakh Indian students apply for studies abroad every year. Every year about 25 thousand Indian students go to study in America alone. But do you know that Indian students have to give some tests or entrance exams before studying abroad. Only after passing these examinations can an Indian student go abroad and study. Today we are going to tell you about some such entrance examinations, only after clearing which Indian students get admission in foreign educational institutions.



1.Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOFEL)-

 

It is necessary to have a score card of this test for studying abroad. TOEFL score card is valid in 130 countries of the world including the US. This score is valid for two years only. But now most foreign universities take IBT (Internet Based Test), in which only your English speaking is tested. On the other hand, reading, listening, writing and speaking are tested in TOEFL.

 

2. International English Language Testing (IELTS)-

IELTS exam tests the student's English knowledge. This exam is jointly conducted by Australia, UK, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa. The score of this test is valid in Australia, UK, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa as well as some American colleges.

 

3.Graduate Management Test (GMAT)-

GMAT exam is necessary to get admission in top management college in the world. The GMAT score is validated at 1900 business schools in the world. Questions related to Analytical Writing Assessment, Quantitative and Verbal Ability are asked in GMAT.

 

4.Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT)-

If you want to take admission in any college or university in America, then you have to pass through Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT). This test is conducted by the Education Testing Service (ETS). In this test, along with maths, verbal reasoning, your ability to understand is tested.

 

5.Graduate Record Examination (GRE)-

 In order to pursue graduation level education in many US colleges, you must first obtain a GRE score card. The pattern of this exam is similar to that of SAT exam.

6.Medical College Admission Test (MCAT)-

 If you want to get medical education from US or Canada, then you have to get a valid score card of MCAT. The Association of American Medical Colleges conducts the MCAT exam for admission to many universities in the US and several medical colleges in Canada. Questions from Verbal Reasoning, Physical Science, Biological Science and Writing Sample are asked in this exam.

 

7. Test of English for International Communication-

The score card of this test is required to study business in any country. This test tests your communication in the English language. In this test questions are asked from subjects like Corporate Development, Finance, Budgeting, Corporate Property, IT, Personal, Technical.
