What is UGC NET?
The full name of UGC is University Grant Commission and the
full form of NET is National Eligibility Test.
UGC NET exam is a national level exam that provides
eligibility to post graduate students to become teachers or professors in the
university.
Also NET also provides admission facility for doing Ph.D.
That is, UGC NET is an online exam for the job of professor
in any government or private college, this exam is conducted twice a year.
Earlier this exam was conducted by the Central Board of
Secondary Education i.e. CBSE on behalf of UGC, but since December 2018, this
exam is being conducted by the National Testing Agency i.e. NTA.
UGC NET exam is completely computer based. Every year lakhs
of students take part in this exam to become a professor or for research work
in high quality institutes.
It is considered to be one of the most difficult
examinations in the country, in which any aspirant has to prove his educational
qualification.
When is the UGC NET form out?
UGC NET exam is conducted twice a year, in which interested
students can participate.
The notification regarding the examination of UGC NET is
released in the month of March and September in the year generally, and the
exam is conducted in the month of June and the month of December respectively.
NET exam is conducted by the University Grants Commission
(UGC) by NTA, a qualifying exam for lectureship in universities, which is
mandatory for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF).
Students can see its notification issued in March and
September by visiting its official website ugcnet.nta.nic.in.
UGC NET Application Form For 2021
If we talk about the form of UGC NET exam of this year i.e.
2021, then the deadline to fill the UGC NET application form 2021 for the UGC
NET June 2021 exam to be conducted by NTA is over.
For the June exam, the form release date was February 2 and
the last date for filling the form was March 9.
The facility to fill the UGC NET Application 2021 Form for
the UGC NET exam to be held in December, from 10 August 2021 to 05 September
(11:50 pm), 2021, was given the facility to fill it online.
The last date for paying UGC NET application fee was 06
September (11:50 pm) till 2021.
Due to the postponement of examinations, the simultaneous
UGC NET examination for December 2020 and June 2021 sessions will be conducted
in online mode from October 6-8 and October 17-19, 2021.
National testing agency has closed the UGC NET 2021
application form correction window facility on 12th September.
With this, candidates could visit the official website-
ugcnet.nta.nic.in to make necessary changes in their UGC NET Application Form
2021.
Candidates willing to participate in NET 2021 are required
to enter all required details under the application process, upload scanned
copies of photograph and signature along with required application fee.
Before filling the UGC NET Application Form 2021, candidates
must check the UGC NET 2021 Eligibility Criteria.
UGC NET admit card is issued for the candidates who
successfully fill the UGC NET application form 2021.
Eligibility for UGC NET
The minimum educational qualification for UGC NET 2021 is a
post graduation degree in any discipline.
The option of 81 subjects is provided by NTA to apply for
the respective post.
In age limit, there is no upper age limit for the post of Assistant
Professors/Lecturers, however, for JRF candidates age should not exceed 31
years.
Age relaxation is also provided for some categories. Must
have at least 55 percent or its equivalent marks in post graduation.
According to the government rules, a relaxation of 5 percent
is provided to the reserved category candidates.
Documents required to fill UGC NET Application Form
Before starting the process of filling the UGC NET
application form, the candidate must have some important documents.
All the documents must be correct to avoid any kind of
inconvenience or wastage of time while filling the application form.
These include Identity proof which includes Bank pass book
(with photo), Ration card, Aadhar card number, Voter ID card or any other
government ID, marksheet of last semester or eligibility certificate, document
for address proof etc.
Apart from these, the permanent and correspondence address
of the candidate, four cities for choice of center, NET subject code, PG
subject code, PG course code, category certificate if applicable, EWS proof if
applicable Letter, e-mail address, mobile number and scanned image etc. are
also required.
